Meine Meinung dazu in aller Kürze:

Antisemitismus ist widerlich.
Und nicht nur das.
Er ist auch sehr dumm.

Der Attentäter aus Halle, Stephan Balliet, stammt aus Eisleben. Die Stadt hat eine lange Tradition des Antisemitismus - sie reicht Jahrhunderte zurück bis zu Martin Luther. Ein Ortsbesuch.

Vor Hitlers Machtergreifung hatte es hier noch geheißen: "D wie David, S wie Samuel, Z wie Zacharias und N wie Nathan". Das ging den Nazis jedoch gegen ihre völkisch-rassische Ideologie.

"In Anbetracht des nationalen Umschwungs in Deutschland halte ich es für nicht mehr angebracht, die in der Buchstabiertabelle des Telefonbuchs aufgeführten jüdischen Namen (...) noch länger beizubehalten", hatte sich ein Denunziant beim Postamt Rostock 1933 beschwert.

Die Beanstandung fand tatsächlich Zustimmung und landete in Berlin, die Überarbeitung der Buchstabentafel wurde beschlossen.
